It’s interesting just how MUCH information Edward Snowden was able to take from the NSA. (This thought is prompted by revelations that Germany has become a massive NSA surveillance outpost — that information has only come out this week.)

I guess this could never have happened before. Nobody could steal a whole building’s-worth of paper all at once. There will be lots of ramifications of the fact that it’s relatively easy now.

I’ve finished most of my marking for the semester. I don’t love marking. One problem is that I know how fantastic my students are, from the great things they come up with in tutorials. Then when they write great essays I’m just like yeah, that’s what I expected, and when they write less-than-great essays I’m disappointed. Oh well. It was a bit more fun this semester than it normally is.
